Tour:
The Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial, Educational and Cultural Center welcomes groups and
individuals to experience the artwork and history of the Audubon Ballroom. The information below
is designed to help you plan a group or individual visit to The Shabazz Center.
Tourists are welcome to walk through the space without a tour guide. A suggested
donation of $5 or more or more is appreciated!
Guided Tours:
The Shabazz Center offers a Tour Guide for individuals as well as groups of no more than 50 people.
The 1-hour tour engages visitors in dialogue about the ideas surrounding Malcolm X,
including a display of the most expansive research conducted by Columbia University's Digital Knowledge
Ventures on Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz with interactive touch-screen kiosks.
Guided tours must be scheduled at least one week in advance.
Students K-12:
$5 per person
College Students and Senior Citizens:
$7 per person
Adults:
$10 per person
Scheduling a Tour:

with the date, time and number of guests that will be attending the guided tour.
We will then confirm the availability with a return telephone call or email.
Payment:
Tours must be paid by either cash or check. We do accept payment the day of your scheduled Tour.
Facility Rentals:
The public spaces at The Shabazz Center offer a unique and diverse experience
perfect for special events and occasions!
The Shabazz Center is approximately 6,000 square feet. It has 2 floors that incorporate

Lobby:
The Audubon's original lobby is 1,350 square feet. It was commissioned by Thomas Lamb with its
antique appearance of terrazzo floors, capital pillars, cherub art deco gracing the walls,
and a winding wooden staircase that leads to the upstairs Ballroom.
Ballroom:
The Ballroom is 3,888 square feet. It features a grandiose space with large windows that overlook New York City.
The ballroom is perfect for wedding receptions, ceremonies, seminars, film screenings and much more!
